16 czerwca 2023 r. w Miejskim Ośrodku Pomocy Społecznej w Żarach odbyło się spotkanie z przedstawicielami firmy WroTech – autorami dokumentacji projektowo – kosztorysowej utworzenia Domu Pomocy Społecznej wraz z Dziennym Domem Wsparcia w Żarach.
Podczas spotkania z mieszkańcami, autorzy projektu Pan Paweł Janczarski i Pani Violetta Jabłońska przedstawili wizualizację oraz założenia projektowe adaptacji budynku po byłym Gimnazjum przy ul. Staszica.
Projekt przewiduje:
- 60 miejsc stałego pobytu w DPS dla osób starszych,
- 10 miejsc opieki wytchnieniowej,
- ośrodek wsparcia dziennego dla 30 osób – Dzienny Dom Wsparcia Senior +
Dyrektor MOPS – Katarzyna Pękala wraz z Kierownikiem Dziennego Domu Senior + Joanną Świętochowską omówiły możliwości wsparcia oraz ofertę pomocy dla osób starszych. Przybyli goście chętnie brali udział w dyskusji nad potrzebami i kierunkami rozwoju form pomocowych kierowanych do Seniorów z terenu miasta Żary.
Projekt „Żary, tu chcę żyć!!!” finansowany ze środków Mechanizmu Finansowego Europejskiego Obszaru Gospodarczego 2014-2021 realizowany jest w ramach programu “Rozwój Lokalny”

The construction project of Żary NR almost complete!
On June 16, 2023, a meeting was held at the Municipal Social Welfare Center in Żary with representatives of the WroTech company – the authors of the project design and cost estimate documentation for the creation of the Nursing Home together with the Daily Support Center in Żary.
During the meeting with the residents, the authors of the project, Mr. Paweł Janczarski and Mrs. Violetta Jabłońska, presented a visualization and design assumptions for the adaptation of the building of the former Junior High School.
The project involves:
- 60 places of permanent residence in the Nursing Home for the elderly,
- 10 respite care places,
- The day support center for 30 people – Daily Support Center for Seniors +.
The director of Municipal Social Welfare Center – Ms. Katarzyna Pękala together with Ms. Joanna Świętochowska the head of the Senior Day Home + discussed the support possibilities and the offer of help for the elderly. The guests eagerly took part in the discussion on the needs and directions of development of forms of assistance addressed to Senior Citizens of the town of Żary.
