Zioła, krzewy z jadalnymi owocami, kwiaty, warzywa i mała architektura ogrodowa to tylko część ogrodu sensorycznego, który powstanie w Żarach przy ul. Podwale w ramach realizowanego projektu „Żary, tu chcę żyć!!!”.
Do współtworzenia tego niezwykłego miejsca zaprosiliśmy żarskie organizacje pozarządowe, placówki opiekuńcze i oświatowe, które na co dzień pracują z osobami z różnymi dysfunkcjami i ograniczeniami. Naszym celem jest stworzenie miejsca, które umożliwi osobom w różnym wieku i o różnej sprawności psychoruchowej bliższe poznanie świata, dokładne jego obejrzenie, poczucie…
Spotkanie było okazją do przedyskutowania koncepcji wspólnie z jej autorem – firmą Lege Artis z Lublina.
Ogród sensoryczny, czyli ogród zmysłów, gdzie wszystkiego można dotknąć, powąchać lub spróbować będzie podzielony na strefy dedykowane poszczególnym zmysłom:
- Strefa Wzroku: nasadzone zostaną rośliny o intensywnych barwach, zarówno liści jak i kwiatów.
- Strefa Słuchu: nasadzone zostaną rośliny, które wydają dźwięki – liście szeleszczą i szumią na wietrze.
- Strefa Węchu: na tym obszarze rośliny dobrane będą w taki sposób, aby natężenie zapachów było jak najintensywniejsze.
- Strefa Smaku: kącik ziołowy oraz kącik owoców;
- Strefa dotyku: nasadzone zostaną rośliny o różnych fakturach i kształtach.
Dodatkowym elementem będzie ścieżka sensoryczna składająca się z kilku rodzajów nawierzchni, co pozwala na pobudzenie zmysłu dotyku. Jest to szczególnie istotne dla osób z dysfunkcjami wzroku.
Spośród naszych zebranych gości swoją chęć i pomoc w pielęgnacji ogrodu sensorycznego już dziś wspólnie ze swoimi podopiecznymi zaoferowała Fundacja SI-gma oraz Warsztat Terapii Zajęciowej

Sensory Garden
Herbs, shrubbery with edible fruit, flowers, vegetables and small garden architecture are only some of the elements of the sensory garden that will be built in Żary at ul. Podwale (plot No. 392/25) as part of “Żary, I want to live here !!!” Project. We invited non-governmental organizations from Żary, care and educational institutions working on the daily basis with people with various dysfunctions and limitations, to contribute to this extraordinary undertaking. Our goal is to create a place that will enable people of all ages as well as those with different levels of psychomotor skills to get to know the world better, see it in more detail, and feel it…
Today’s meeting was an opportunity to discuss the concept with its originator – Lege Artis company from Lublin.
The sensory garden, i.e. the garden of senses, where one can touch, smell or taste everything, will be divided into zones dedicated to the respective senses:
Sight Zone: plants with intense colors of both leaves and flowers will be planted here.
Hearing Zone: plants that make sounds will be planted here – those whose leaves rustle in the wind.
Smell Zone: in this area plants will be selected in such a way that the intensity of their smells will be as strong as possible.
Taste Zone: herb and fruit corners;
Touch Zone: plants with different textures and shapes will be planted here.
A sensory path consisting of several types of surfaces, which will allow its visitors to stimulate the sense of touch will be an additional element here. This is especially important for people with visual impairments.
From among our gathered guests, the Si-gma Foundation and Occupational Therapy Workshops have already offered their willingness to assist us in looking after the sensory garden.
